Terms

1) I will only sell to people who have a US mailing address. If eBay shows that you are outside I will have to cancel your bids. Sorry.

2) Due to eBay's invoicing policies, a maximum of 20 items can be put on an invoice.

3) Please wait for me to send an invoice before you pay. I send all items insured or at least with a tracking number. The cost of this is included in the total s/h cost of listed in the ordering information.

4) Wins from the same day will be combined for combined s/h savings, but not for auctions over more than one week. Thanks!

5) I combine postage, so multiple items will be sent together for the higher of the shipping prices quoted. (For example, if you win a banknote with a $3.50 stated s/h rate and a heavier coin set with a $4.50 quoted s/h rate, they will be sent together and your total s/h would be $4.50.

6) I will combine the first 4 wins (lots) at the highest quoted price. After 4 wins I will charge an extra 25 cents per item sent at the same time, in addition to the base s/h.

7) Books will likely be sent media rate and may have to be sent separately from non-book items. Ask if you have questions on shipping.

Zeta Beta Tau (ΖΒΤ) is a Greek-letter social fraternity based in North America. It was founded on December 29, 1898. Originally a Zionist youth society, its purpose changed from the Zionism of the fraternity's early years when, in 1954, the fraternity became non-sectarian and open to non-Jewish members, changing its membership policy to include "All Men of Good Character" regardless of religious or ethnic background, while still being recognized as the first Jewish Fraternity.

Founding

The Zeta Beta Tau fraternity was led until his death by Richard J. H. Gottheil, a professor of languages at Columbia University and a Zionist. On December 29, 1898, he formed a Zionist youth society with a group of students from several New York City universities. Fifteen young men — among them Herman Abramowitz, Aaron Levy, Bernhard Bloch, David Liknaitz, Isidore Delson, Louis S Posner, Aaron Drucker, Bernhard Saxe, Bernard Ehrenreich, Herman Sheffield, Menachem Eichler, David Swick, Aaron Eiseman, Maurice Zellermayer, and David Levine — gathered at the Jewish Theological Seminary on that date to found the organization.

The society was called Z.B.T., which referred to the first letters in the transliteration of the Hebrew phrase צִיּוֹ בְּמִשְׁפָּט תִּפָּדֶה "Zion Be-mishpat Tipadeh", which translated means "Zion shall be redeemed with justice". This is taken from Isaiah 1:27 — "Zion be-mishpat tipadeh ve-shaveha be-tzedakah" (Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and they that return of her, with righteousness"). The word "judgment" is sometimes translated as "justice". The meaning of Z.B.T. was listed in the American Jewish Committee's annual report as early as 1900–1901.

If a check has been used, there are likely fold, punch cancellations, spindle holes, ink stamps, etc. Often the circulated like banknotes, so can sometimes be quite circulated. The climate of the state that it is from can also determine the condition.
