Vintage J.W. Robinson Co. Art Deco Purple Velvet Bow Back Cape Flapper Opera Coat

This vintage J.W. Robinson Co. Art Deco purple velvet bow back cape flapper opera coat dates from the 1920s. It is made of a royal purple color silk velvet fabric. This fabulous flapper evening opera coat has a long knee length loose fitting open front wrap style with no closures, long full sleeves with smocking gathers detail, an attached large wide bow back capelet gathered center drape, is lined with a purple silk fabric and has a "J.W. Robinson Co." department store label sewn inside. The coat measures 40 inches long, with a 40 inch chest, 40 inch waist, 14 inch back and 24 inch long sleeve. It is in good condition, with the purple silk fabric lining frayed, shattering inside the sleeves, underarms and back neck (see close-up). This is truly wonderful piece of Art Deco wearable art!
