Victorian silver vinaigrette

An exquisite Victorian sterling silver vinaigrette having a gold gilt grill and interior.
This stunning rectangular shaped vinaigrette is decorated with a master class of engraving, which are stull crisp.
A superb engraved elaborate scroll decoration of ostrich feather plumage to the lid and base with an intertwined blank cartouche to the lid.
The sides are engraved in a fine basket weave leading to each corner, which are beautifully shaped and detailed giving the suggestion of feet. This superb box has a knuckle hinge providing a beautiful smooth opening and closing action. The thumb lift is beautifully shaped to facilitate ease of use.
The internal areas and hinged grill are gold gilt. Stunning detail to the grill with a delicate elongated scroll decoration.
Clearly marked and a stunning quality piece of history.
Maker Edward Smith (silversmith) was first registered in Birmingham 1826, renowned for manufacturing snuff boxes, card cases and vinaigrette's.

Our green policy, we re-use as much packaging as possible. Postage labels from re-cycled paper. We do have to bubble wrap some of our items, but we keep all bubble wrap for re-use. Your packages will always be securely wrapped and packaged.
The things we sell.
Do not expect new items, shrink wrapped and over packaged, our items are vintage, antique, and pre-loved. We like to give them a new home. (There is the occasional exception, were we sell a new item)
Postage.
Orders are usually posted daily by 10.00am, orders placed after this time are posted the next morning. This is simply to accommodate the collections from local depot.
Returns
On the rare occasion when you want to return an item, our policy is simple, no quibble returns. Please note you are responsible for postage and packing costs.
International Shipping
We use the Global Shipping Program for all international shipping, we DO NOT accept returns unless the buyer pays the return postage.
