A finely carved golden sandstone medieval 14th century style pinnacle finial, possibly English. There is general age wear and cracking but no real damage and with traces of limewash still adhering to the lower half. From the collection of my great-great grandfather who was something of an antiquarian and amateur archaeologist. His labels are still attached which could possibly help identifying where the piece came from as his original notes and records are lost. He did attempt to save what he could from restorers and travelled all over the UK in search of pieces, though he would also acquire things from Europe.

No reserve.
