Produced by CHAD VALLEY for the GWR as an advertising puzzle that the that was then sold to customers to entertain the kids on long train journeys.
The Company commissioned well known artists of the day to produce posters that were used as models for the puzzles.
This particular puzzle was by Michael Reilly and features the view west along the High Street, in particular Havard House.
This was the home of the Havard family who went on to found the University , hence the American flag.
A very beautiful puzzle it was produced between 1933 - 38 and contains 400 pieces.
The puzzle is complete and in lovely condition, it also comes with the original leaflet giving the history of the house.
The box is also complete and is the Series 2 Large Blue type.
