I have here for sale a 2-book set entitled LECONS DE FLORE Cours Complet de Botanique.  Explication de Tous les Systemes, Introduction a L'Etude des Plantes, par J L M Poiret.  Suive d'Une Iconographie Vegetale en cinquante-six planches coloriees offrant pres de mille objets par P J F Turpin.  Published by C L F Panckoucke, Paris in 1819-20.  It says 56 colour plates but I found 39 in Vol I and 24 in Vol II which makes 63 in total.  There are also 2 b/w fold-out plates in Vol II.

Bound in full dark brown calf leather on hardboards with a gilt decorative border, gilt bands and red leather title and volume blocks with gilt lettering to the spines.  At some point the books have been rebacked very professionally.  Boards in fine condition.  Sporadic foxing across both volumes but binding firm.  Marbled endpapers with reinforced hinges.  Vol I - 241 pages of text plus plates; Vol II -174 + 199 pages + index + plates.  21 x 13 cm.
