A fantastic find for the collector. I nearly never say cheesy stuff like that but this is a good one. For souvenir spoon collectors, steamship collectors, German collectors, WWI collectors, and so on. A really nice hand painted enamel scene shows the SS Kaiser Wilhelm II in all its glory on the open seas. Tip of the handle has more enamel decoration. The steamship SS KWII was the pride of Germany and it rivaled the best English ships of its day. It saw action as a civilian ocean liner from its launch in 1902 until 1914. At the end of that run WWI has begun and the ship was docked in NY. The U.S. government seized the ship and then the USN pressed it into service in the war. After WWI it became a U.S. Army ship. Quite the history! The spoon is solid .800 silver. It has German purity hallmarks with a”KEK” makers mark. The spoon would have been made before 1914, making it well over 100 years old. Condition is excellent with no issues to speak of. You could always polish it if you wish. Approximately 4” long. Ships ASAP! Thanks
