For sale: one 2006 Mercedes S500 4Matic, VIN# WDBNG84J16A462815, in good overall condition and in need of a new caring owner. Used as a daily driver and rock-solid, this car has always been in the possession of adult drivers and has been owned and maintained by a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast since 2018. Original #747 Granite Grey Metallic paint - rare color, very similar to Porsche Horizon Blue.
No expense has been spared in treating the car to OEM or better service and upgrades over the years, and it shows! The car runs and drives well, showing its age only in areas where a few hours of wrenching can make all the difference in the world. It has been serviced with OEM or better fluids and other components ahead of schedule without exception, with strict attention paid to every service. The stock wheels were replaced with Rial M10 19” AMG replicas and General tires, which ride wonderfully and add to the handling characteristics of the vehicle with no drawbacks in ride or comfort whatsoever; these are included with the sale and are fitted with OEM MB center caps as shown.
It is for sale only because I had the opportunity to purchase an extremely rare European-only S-class model delivered from the continent by a specialty importer; otherwise my plan was to keep this car indefinitely – and I can prove it! I have every service component needed to bring this car back to near-mint mechanical condition as well as perform numerous cosmetic repairs and enhancements, all with OEM Mercedes-Benz components or better when the factory parts were not available through Mercedes’ own Classic division.
With 232,7XX miles on the odometer, this car has seen a lot, and it is ready for a weekend of work to put it in shape to tackle the next 232K. Overall, this is a fantastic car that has always been maintained by either dealer service departments or in my case an MB enthusiast with 30+ years of experience and it is ready to change hands with everything it needs to be ready for another 200K+ easily. Of course, it has some flaws - hence the replacement parts - that need attention, but nothing that prevents it from being driven and enjoyed. The Airmatic system has some peculiarities related to the valve block, the struts are well worn and no longer provide as smooth a ride as when it was new, the front passenger door has some minor surface rust on the lower trailing edge as shown as well as a faulty door handle mechanism (OEM parts included), and a few more inconveniences that can be easily remedied. These are by no means major issues and the car is driven regularly as-is, and can easily be brought back to amazing condition with a weekend of work with the provided parts (paint pens with the correct factory #747 granite grey paint, as well as clearcoat pens, are included). I am not interested in selling any of the additional components or upgrades separately, sorry - though I may consider an offer on the roof racks.
