Used twice for 2 christmas dinners where my mother in law was present, she gave us this butter dish which was one of two she owned. She said it was from France and Lead Crystal Glass - and yes it is heavy but I'm not sure it's Lead Crystal. It was only used twice as we don't normally buy stick butter. But it's beautiful and if you are this way enclined, it will make a really gorgeous dish for stick butter.
