This early 1800's pottery jar is a rare find for collectors of advertising and early packaging memorabilia. The jar features an intact lead seal and is labelled with the Liebig's Meat Extract brand, this brand later became OXO. This is really early packaging for the product, bearing a lead embossed seal label closure, featuring a picture of a cow/oxen and plough. It's packaging predates most advertising posters featuring the product1870's, which portrays an evolved shape with paper label, different type of jar. Given it's age and the delicate lead seal closure, it must be one of the few example to still survive in good condition.
