They advised me that


“Your Stevengraph is the rarest of the designs being the York Exhibition mount and lacking the signpost.

That is the good news…. but the condition will be an issue and significantly affect the value.


I have this design in my collection but there are some minor differences with the mount. The date 1739 is absent, the criss cross line around the picture is thinner and lacks the gothic style corners, ‘Registered’ appears below the poem and the printed font in the bottom corners are of a different size. The corners of the mount have also been rounded off. I am attaching an image of the one in my collection for comparison. It is my opinion that this was probably not woven at the exhibition but produced in Coventry as a prototype. “
