This immensely popular book was written by James beresford in the form of a series of conversations between friends Samuel Sensitive and Timothy Testy, with occasional input from Mrs. Testy. It gives a great, detailed overview of the things that irritated ordinary people as they went about their lives in late-georgian England.

Included in this lot is the response - An Antidote to the Miseries of Human Life by  The Widow Placid, who puts an altogether more optimistic light on things.

Two books dated 1806 and 1809. Both in very good condition.

Relisted due to non-paying bidder.
