1904 Seth Thomas four column Adamantine black mantel clock made in Thomaston, Connecticut.

Here is an exquisite example of the classic ornate Adamantine mantel clock. It features four columns with dual figural trimmings between the columns. The main body of the case is black in colour, and there are marbleised highlights above the columns and on the top section of the case. All of the metal ornamentation features it's original un-altered lacquered finish. All of the adamantine is original and has not been patched/filled or otherwise altered. The dial is also original to the clock. Overall, this is a very nice example of an early 20th century Adamantine mantel clock, and it is ready to operate for many years to come.

Mechanical Restoration: The movement was fully disassembled and all parts and components were cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and then hand polished and checked. 14 bushings were installed. The strike side spring was replaced, and both springs were cleaned and oiled. The movement was reassembled and tested for several weeks. The clock keeps good time and runs for the eight day period.

Case Restoration: The case was completely disassembled all all case sections were thoroughly dusted and scrubbed to remove built up dirt and grease. The case was polished and waxed to revive the original gloss appearance of the Adamantine veneer. The dial bezel was polished to a shine, and the original paper was preserved. The feet, column caps, and lions heads were also cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and hand polished to a shine. The clock originally had two labels, one of which is still original and is pasted to the back panel of the case. The other label was severely damaged and was replaced with an exact duplicate.

The clock comes complete with an original Seth Thomas pendulum bob, and the correct double-end winding key.
