MicroChamps 1:64 Williams-Renault FW14/14B Ricardo Patrese 1991/92.

Highly detailed MicroChamps 1:64 scale replica model Williams-Renault FW14/14B, as driven by Ricardo Patrese in the 1991/1992 Formula One sesons.

The FW14 made its debut at the 1991 United States Grand Prix, and was the most technically advanced car of the season. However, it suffered various early-season difficulties, and it was not until race six in Mexico that the car showed its true potential.

Following second and third places, Ricardo Patrese took the FW14 to its maiden victory in Mexico. Adding his second win in Portugal, Patrese made four more visits to the podium with a second and three third places and, along with two fifths, scored 53 points to finish third in the Drivers' Championship.

After further development work was done to the gearbox and aerodynamics, with electronics technology such as traction control and active suspension added, the B-spec FW14, designated FW14B, was introduced for the 1992 season.

As Nigel Mansell won the opening five races, Ricardo Patrese played his part, helping the team record four 1-2s, with only a retirement in Spain preventing the perfect start to the season. Again riding shotgun to Mansell, two more 1-2s were achieved in France and Britain, with 2-3s coming in Monaco and Belgium. After finishing fifth in Italy, Patrese got his season's reward with victory in Japan.
Totalling 56 points, Ricardo Patrese took second place behind Mansell in the Drivers' Championship, while Williams finished top in the Constructors'.
