Original Japanese Navy Photo Cruiser Ashigara Mochi Making c.1938
This is an original photo from the estate of Warrant Officer Niijima Takeo, an electronics operator aboard the Heavy Cruiser Ashigara from around 1936-1939. His photos show many scenes of the Second Sino-Japanese War, including landings at Wusong (呉淞) and Hangzhou Bay (杭州湾) in 1937, and further landings at Qingdao (青島), Chefoo (芝罘), Weihai (威海市/威海衛), and Lianyungang (連雲港) in 1938-39.
