Tellima Grandiflora or Fringe Cups is a long- lived and long-flowering perennial plant happy in all situations and a variety of soils.

Tall spikes of bell-shaped, white, or greenish-white flowers appear from May to July above rosettes of hairy, scalloped, emerald-green leaves. Fringe cups make excellent semi-evergreen groundcover for a moist, shady shrub border or woodland garden. Best sheltered from cold, drying winds, they're a particularly valuable choice for difficult areas of dry shade.

Once established, they will ask little attention and give much pleasure as one of most graceful and reliable perennials.

They look marvellous teamed up with hostas, alliums, and any foliage or contrasting colour flowering plants.

I  simply can not go without them in my garden!

They will make a good choice as a cut flower, lasting well in the vase. Good enough for my florists to want them, too.

How to care for Tellima grandiflora:

Remove the faded flower spikes once the plant has finished flowering. Lift and divide congested colonies in spring and apply a generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost or leaf mould around the base of the plant.

Please note: Best grown in medium moisture, moisture retentive, humusy soils in part shade. Tolerates wet soils and  survives  well in dry.

Spreads by thick rhizomes and forms colonies in optimum growing conditions.

Grows better in cool climates than hot, humid ones.

This perennial dies back to below ground level ( more or less) each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

Tellima grandiflora has no toxic effects reported.

A perfect plant for cottage garden, wild garden, bog or prairie gardens, next to a pond or stream, or meadow.

It's a pollinator-friendly plant that attracts butterflies.
