After the NASA Space Shuttle, in the form of the prototype Enterprise on the back of a Boeing 747, now the orbiter makes a return appearance in the Collection as an independent craft without its transporter but with a stand, extended landing gear and new details like engine outlets. The design also differs slightly from its predecessor model. The model is released in the Enterprise’s later livery in which it was mainly seen at exhibitions and in which it can still be seen at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian Museum of Flight in Washington DC.
