Minichamps 1:43 Williams F1 BMW FW23 Juan Pablo Montoya 2001 - Dealer Edition.

Rare opportunity to acquire a highly detailed, BMW Dealer Edition Minichamps 1:43 scale replica model Williams F1 BMW FW23, as driven by Juan Pablo Montoya in the 2001 Formula One season.

Following on from the promise shown in the 2000 season, the FW23, with a well-designed chassis, and powered by the powerful BMW P81, 3.0-litre V10 engine, saw Williams re-emerge at the top of F1 alongside Ferrari and McLaren. However, with the BMW engine less reliable, and the chassis not as competitive on high-downforce circuits compared to their rivals, coupled with a number of driver errors, Williams ultimately finished third in the Constructors' Championship with 80 points.

Juan Pablo Montoya, a previous Formula 3000 and CART champion, joined Williams for his Formula One debut season. While a mixture of unreliability and driver error saw Montoya suffer nine retirements in twelve races, he also demonstrated his ability with a fourth and two second place finishes. Another retirement followed eighth in Hungary and, retirement in the penultimate race was followed by a second place in the season finale. In between, however, Juan Pablo secured his third pole at the Italian Grand Prix, going on to claim his first Formula One victory. Scoring 31 points, he finished sixth in the Drivers' Championship.
