This is a solid  silver and enamel medal for a long gone London cycling club.

The medal has been issued by the Ealing Manor Road Club during the year 1938.
The medal has been awarded for a bicycle race.

The inscription on the reverse reads ; "  Standard '25'   R.E. Bates .  1h.8m. 53s. 1938 ".

A British silver, present on the reverse.

L. Simpson & Co of London is the medal maker.

The shielded medal is typically art deco style of its time

Ealing Manor is now known as Pitzhanger Manor Ealing

The medal (just under 39mm high) is in a good condition with no damage or enamel missing.
The sturdy silver medal weighs over 12 grams.

I can find no reference to this cycling club so I suspect this medal is  very rare.

Good item for several fields of collecting.
