I have for sale a RARE MAP OF Yorkshire entitled DUCATUS EBORACENSIS PARS ORIENTALIS or The East Riding of Yorkshire, published in 1646 by Jan Jansson in Holland.  It has a lovely hand-coloured cartouche and a series of coloured coats of arms and another small coloured section in the bottom left corner featuring the Scale, Cherubs and a Globe.  The ocean features a couple of lovely Seventeenth Century galleons, and the Compass Rose is coloured. Areas are colour delineated and each larger town/city is also coloured.  The extremes of the area covered on this map are: Selby in the bottom left corner, Rydale in the top left corner, Osgodbye (Osgodby) to the top right corner, Spun Head (Spurn Head) to the bottom right as well as part of Lincolnshire going as far down as Habrough.

Text on rear in French. Page numbers on rear are 319 and 320. Central fold has been strengthened. Bottom left hand corner has been repaired, rather well as it is almost indistinguishable from the front view, but far more obvious from the text side.

Map is in very good condition.  The map itself measures 40 cm x 53 cm.
