I have here for sale a book entitled THE BIRDS OF JAMAICA by PHILIP HENRY GOSSE Assisted by Richard Hill, Esq., of Spanish-Town published by John Van Voorst, London, in 1847.  First edition.  Nearly two hundred species of birds are ascertained to belong to the Jamaica Fauna, and with the help of a local ornithologist, the author has endeavoured to provide information about as many of them as possible.

Dark green cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  Minor marks on the boards.  Gilt page top edge.  Browning and foxing to endpapers with slight browning to page borders.  All pages are firm and the book is in very good condition.  x, 447 pages, plus publisher's catalogue 2 pages.  19.5 x 13 cm.
