The FT-7900R provides 50 Watts of power on the 144 MHz band, and 40 Watts on the 430 MHz, and is designed for simplicity of operation along with high performance in the receiver section. The FT-7900R is ideal for the active Ham who has a need for simplex, repeater, or FM satellite operation on both bands, but without the complication of cross-band repeat capability, which is available on our FT-8800R and FT-8900R models.

- Large LCD display. The large backlit LCD on the FT-7900R ensure excellent visibility
- Temperature controlled fan, automatic protection. The main body shell has a DC heat sink and is equipped with a temperature-controlled cooling fan. When the temperature rises to the factory preset value, it will automatically reduce the transmission power, control the circuit temperature within a safe range, and prevent the radio from overheating
- Automatic shutdown, energy saving and power saving. In order to prevent you from forgetting to shut down when you leave your car, the radio can automatically shut down within a specified time without any operation, saving electric quantity. (Please refer to the manual for activation method)
- Mass storage. Support 1000 storage channels, convenient for your daily use
- Frequency and subtone scanning. Supports frequency and analog/digital sub-tone scanning of the operating band, searching for available base station frequencies nearby. When you first arrive at a certain place, you can quickly scan up to 30pcs nearby available frequencies and save them to the smart search library for recall
- Manual tuning is fast and convenient. The equipped multi-function handheld mic can be manually tuned, which is easy to operate. Programmable buttons: Customized buttons provide quick and easy access to frequently used functions. Numeric keyboard: can directly manually input frequency to maintain communication
