You are bidding on A JOB LOT OF VINTAGE PHOTOS
These vary in date from the1900s to the 1950.
These
came to me with hundreds of photos from one extended family – the
Jones's/Tripp Family of Bristol and the Dunne's of Cardiff.
I
know that during the World War One period, the Dunne family were
living at Loudon Gardens, Cardiff
Docks. I also know that, during the
1950s, a member of the family had links with the Tawe
Choral Society
There is a photo in here (the young woman in the R.A.F. Cap,which has the name and address 'Dyke, 38 Great George St, Which is in Bristol
In addition From processing wallets, I know that others among these are from a Bristol family with the surname 'Jones'.
To give an idea of scale, the Largest photo top left measures approximately 8 ½” x 6 ½”
I think that most of the seaside photos are taken around Somerset and Devon, particularly Weston-Super-Mare, Torquay, Ilfracombe
Photos in lot – From Back Left (Any information on the backs of the photos is added in ITALICS)

'Dyke,
38 Great George St'.
Also has a stamp with 'WALLIS' on
back.
1930:
Studio shot of what I think is the same woman, in simple smart suit,
with roses.
Photographers stamp on back. 'Walter Briggs, 96
Old Market Street, Bristol' (The last entry fo this photographer
on the Bristol Photographers A-Z web page is 1931 – hence my
date?)
1920s Studio shot of baby
Victorian
(The stamp on back seems to say 1882 Jerome) Studio shot of
baby
Mrs Tripp, 206 Lower Cheltenham Place (Montpelier,
Bristol)

1950s: Bristol Zoo -Black Bear
1950s: Boy aged about 4/5 years, lying on mat in garden
1950s:
Prsentation of what looks like a Cigarette Lighter. The man
receiving the lighter has a Royal Air Force Association badge
on his blazer, which leads me to believe that he is the original
owner of the R.A.F. Cap in pic 3
This has a faded
photographers stamp, which, from another copy I have) I know to be
'Bristol Evening Post'
World

1940s:
Two men, one younger than the other. I think this is a 'Young man
with his parents' shot. She is the older woman from the earlier
pics.
If I am correct, I think she is the girl in the RAF cap
from pic 3, and he, the man from the R.A.F.A. Presentation in pic
10. from pic mother. Again she is also the older woman from several
shots, in her younger days
I have tried to mention any obvious flaws in the listings above, apart from this and some light buffeting commensurate with their relative age, they are in excellent condition with no rips, tears or album damage.
