Original Japanese Navy Photo Officer Nakano Masatomo (10th Communications Unit Commander) Seletar Singapore 1942

This is an original photo from the estate of IJN Supply Officer Noji Sadayoshi. Noji was born in 1909 and enlisted in at Kure Naval Base in 1926. After 15 years of active duty service, he was promoted to a Supply Warrant Officer in September 1941. Noji participated in the invasion of Songkhla in 1941 with the 91st Communications Unit and later was stationed in at Seletar Naval Base in Singapore with the 10th Communications until 1944. In January 1944 Noji was reassigned to Kure Naval Base and posted to the newly established Okayama Regional Naval Office in April 1944. In June 1945 Noji was reassigned to the Special Transport Vessel "Shirazaki" and surrendered at Otaru Port, Hokkaido at the end of the war.
