IM150 Wireless Light & Color Meter

Now a part of the Datacolor product portfolio

The IM150 Light & Color Meter is a wireless, Bluetooth-connected light meter that

measures light and color temperature in ambient, continuous and strobe lighting at multiple

locations in a setting, for easier and faster lighting.

Measures light & color temperature for any type of light – even flash – directly to your

smartphone for accurate exposure for photo & cine use.

Designed For: Use in photo, video, cine, broadcast and industrial markets. Delivers

accurate light and color temperature for any light source, including outdoor light, tungsten,

LED, HMI, fluorescent, strobe and more.

Value Proposition:

Using the IM150 Light Meter ensures accuracy while saving valuable time and effort

when setting up lighting. The Bluetooth-enabled meter accurately measures all types

of lighting, from fluctuating outdoor light, mixed natural/artificial location lighting, plus

any type of studio lighting, including continuous lighting and strobe.

Along with color temperature, the IM150 Light Meter also measures Duv – the green-

magenta component of your light that helps you determine whether a correction is

needed for fluorescent, LEDs or sunlight.

Using a light meter allows you to get a read on the light’s true color temperature

rather than rely on your camera’s Auto White Balance, so you can set your white

balance correctly from the start of your shoot.

In a mixed lighting situation, you can use the meter’s strobe and ambient color

measuring to match your strobes to the ambient and avoid mixed color casts.

In situations with challenging light sources such as LEDs or fluorescent lighting, you

can measure your sources separately to know how to white balance or filter using

color correction gels. Filter libraries from Lee and Rosco are included to help you

choose the right color gels.

Using the light meter to measure the light falling on your subject (incident) instead of

bouncing back to the camera (reflected), ensures you’ll get the correct exposure and

allows for easy set-up of one or multiple lighting ratios for enhanced creative

freedom.

The IM150 Light Meter also allows you to set up to 15 alarm notifications for lighting

changes that can occur, for example, when you’re outdoors and clouds form or shift,

or in studio when your flash fails to go off. The app can even compare readings from

several meters automatically and warn you of color changes, color mismatches or

changes in relative brightness.

Features & Benefits:

The IM150 Light Meter uses Bluetooth technology to continuously send exposure

and color temperature information directly to your smartphone running the Illuminati

App for iOS or Android.

Perfect for both still and moving images, the IM150 Light Meter also includes the

convenience of remote sensing & multiple sensors in a small yet powerful tool.

Measuring light allows you to take the guesswork out of lighting. Examples include

setting foreground/background lighting ratios for a consistent look and setting lights

to fill shadows to your specifications.

Perfect for metering large areas to get uniform lighting for things like green screens.

On the back of the IM150 Light Meter, the rare earth magnet has accessories for

mounting or can be attached to metal objects for light measurement reading.

The 3.5 mm jack lets you attach a sync cable for triggering a strobe if needed. The

IM150 Light Meter can also detect a flash without a sync cable from the sensor

inside.

A ¼”-20 mounting hole for attaching to light stands and tripods allows you to place

meter next to your subject while you work on lights.

RGB LEDs let you know the mode your meter is in, displays connection status and

light reading alarms.

The power & measure button turns the IM150 Light Meter on and off and also

triggers manual light reading including firing your wired flash.

The crush-proof, spring-loaded light diffusion dome toggles between raised and

lowered position. When the dome is raised, the device can be used for exposure

metering of people or other 3D objects and multiple light sources at the same time.

When the dome is pressed down, it’s ready to measure color temperature or

metering flat objects or single light sources.

The through-hole for lanyards allows you to wear the IM150 Light Meter around your

neck or hang it in your photo/video scene.

The IM150 Light Meter uses 2 AAA batteries for up to 40 hours of continuous use.

The meter’s ergonomic design makes it easy and comfortable to hold in hand.
