1861 Cover with (Scott 35) CLEVELAND, OHIO to SONORA, TUOLUMNE COUNTY,  CALIFORNIA. The cover has a c.d.s. of CLEVELAND, O., MAR 16, 1861 tying it to a green ten cent Scott 35. Addressed to Mrs. Anna Mastick, Care of F. W. Mastick, Sonora, Tuolumne County, California. 

The town of Sonora was founded by Mexican Gold Miners during the California Gold Rush. Covers sent to Gold Mining towns like Sonora are scarce. Very few survived. 

CONDITION: Very good. Neatly cut opened at the left and the flap.  Very clean and intact.
