You're bidding on a fun vintage tourist/novelty map - 17" x 13 1/2" - "The Tobermory Shipwrecks". Published 1982 by the Mariner Chart Shop, Tobermory, ON. Tobermory is a town at the tip of the peninsula that juts out into Lake Huron, creating Georgian Bay. Because of its location, the surrounding Fathom Five National Marine Park is the site of numerous shipwrecks, dating back as far as the late 18th Century, and is a destination location for divers.

Map is a fun combination of  a nautical chart with depth soundings in the style of an antique map, with compass graphic, cartouches and a fancy border. The locations of wrecks, with dates, and of lighthouses are all marked.

Map is in near mint condition, with only a few wrinkles at left and right margin edges - probably because it's printed on parchment style paper and tightly rolled, so it's a bit difficult to unroll and lay flat. Super clean, though, and appears never mounted or displayed.

Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
