Minichamps 1:43 Prost-Peugeot AP01 Olivier Panis 1998.

Highly detailed Minichamps 1:43 scale replica model Prost-Peugeot AP01, driven by Olivier Panis in the 1998 Formula One season.

Powered by the Peugeot A16, 3.0-litre V10 engine, the AP01 was the first-ever Prost car to utilize Peugeot engines in a factory works deal.
After the good results of the previous year, the 1998 season turned into an exercise in damage limitation. The team only scraped into the season by a narrow margin as the chassis failed the mandatory FIA crash test three times. A heavy gearbox upset the balance of the car, and proved to be an unreliable weakness, while the team's factory relocation nearer to Paris did nothing to help matters.

Olivier Panis, in his fifth year with the team as Ligier and Prost, suffered a dreadful season compared to his early-season success of 1997, before missing seven races through injury. With six retirements, and failing to make the restart in a wet Belgian Grand Prix due to damage to his car following a first corner crash involving over half the field, his best finish of ninth came in the opening race in Australia.

This great looking model is in excellent pre-owned condition. Inlay, with some discolouration to white chequered area, and cover, with some storage/handling marks, are very good. Please inspect detailed photos to assist your personal assessment.
