Edwardian Embroidered Whitework Cotton Irish Crochet Lace Trim Tea Dress

This antique Edwardian era embroidered whitework cotton Irish crochet lace trim tea dress dates from 1910. It is made of a white cotton linen fabric with raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery whitework flowers, Swiss dots and raised floral Irish crochet lace detailed meshwork trim inserts. This lovely lace lawn dress is a long tea length, with fanciful frills, lace trimmings,puffed sleeves, a fitted sheer lace waistband, full skirt, mother of pearl button closures hidden down the back and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 53 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 24 inch waist, 46 inch hips, 14 inch back and a 13 inch long sleeve. It is in good condition, with only a pin hole on the back skirt waist and a tiny patched repair on the front skirt waist (see close-ups). This is truly an extraordinary piece of wearable art!
