Up for auction is a Marklin 3048 DB 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive and Tender. 

The locomotive features a die-cast metal body, dual steam deflectors, metal wheels, axles and metal tie-rods. The tender is made of plastic, a relex coupler, plastic trucks, metal wheels and axles. Please see my high-quality pictures for additional features.

The Steam Locomotive is in a very good condition. 

There are light scratches and markings along the body. The wheels and rolling pickups show signs of light wear. The right wheel guard on the rear underside of the tender is broke off. Hard to see but take a closer look at my high-quality pictures. Also, on the front lower right side of the tender the ladder is partially broke off. I'll include that piece in the package when shipping. In order to point these deficiencies out to you I retook several pictures, so you can closely examine the Locomotive.

The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. 

When I tested it on my analog system, it did run smoothly in forward and reverse mode including light function. While carefully inspecting it I lubricated the engine and transmission. I could not test the smoke function due to the lack of smoke fluid.

Overall, a very heavy, high quality vintage locomotive in excellent condition which is hard to locate these days.
