(ROYAL) ASCOT 1928

SECOND DAY

WEDNESDAY JUNE 20TH 1928

The opening race was the Coronation Stakes, which saw the TWO winners of the fillies' Classics of that year renew their rivalry.

SCUTTLE, the only classic winner of King George V, had won the 1000 Guineas with Lord Derby's TOBOGGAN over 6 lengths back in third.

However TOBOGGAN got her revenge in The Oaks.
This race would settle the argument as to which was the better filly!

TOBOGGAN emerged victorious with SCUTTLE back in third place.

The other races on the card are:

The Royal Hunt Cup;
The Chesham Stakes;
The King Edward VII Stakes (formerly the Ascot Derby Stakes);
The Bessborough Handicap Stakes;
The Churchill Stakes.

**A rare card offered in decent overall condition considering it has had to survive 96 years**

 **As always, please view all photographs, as my description is based on them**
