This is a Celebrated Comic Song about a well-dressed man who is a thief in disguise posing as a suiter for the young ladies.  His modus operandi is to call on the young ladies at their home and while waiting for the maid to fetch the young lady, he helps himself to the family silver.

The black and white Lithograph depicts the thief being apprehended by Dan, the Footman while the maid and others look on.
