Fascinating historical Thorough Guide to North Wales.  This is Part 1, covering the Northern section including Chester, Rhyl, Llandudno, Bangor, Llanrwst, Bettws-y-Coed, Caernarvon, Lalnberis, Beddgelert, FFestiniog and surrounding areas.

By C. S. Ward and M. J. B. Baddeley.  This is the 1st edition of this title and dates from 1884.

These guides are increasingly becoming collectors' items.

This book extends to 218 pages of text, plus a 28-page section of wonderful old contemporary advertisements.  

12 maps and plans by Bartholomew.

Generally in very good condition.

The covers are in reasonably good condition, with normal wear.   Slight rubbing and wear to edges.   Faint superficial markings to rear cover.   No other markings damage. 

The spine cloth is also in reasonably good condition with normal wear.  Slight scuffing to the top and bottom edges.  Fading to gilt title.  No other markings or damage.

The binding is very good.  Just slight cracks inside the covers.

The pages are in very good condition, with very little wear but some discolouration at the edges.  No markings or damage.   

There is a tiny ink inscription inside the front cover.

The 12 maps and plans are all in place.  They are in excellent condition with very little wear and no markings or damage.

Overall, in very good condition for a book which is 140 years old.
