This vintage market basket or beach tote features a woven basket in vibrant horizontal colors; leather or faux leather handles; and a magnetic top closure.
It doesn’t appear to have ever been used, but the interior colors are a bit brighter so I assume the exterior is slightly faded. The “leather” accents look their age, but are still in excellent shape (see photos).
The piece was made in the Philippines, by Design Etnika for East O' Java. I’m guessing the woven basket material is a reed or grass.
Measures 22” wide at top x 12” tall (excluding handles).
