Vintage early to mid 20th century Japanese seihakuji (celadon) porcelain small lotus leaf dish, is finely potted by Miyanaga Tozan (1868-1941) or by his successor his adoptive daughter probably at Fushimi Fukakusa Kiln.

This beautiful piece is finely modelled on a lotus leaf with the intricated veining giving the celadon glaze perfect graduation of blueish green shading as it pools.  The fabulous quality of the porcelain is shown by its gorgeous translucent nature, looking like egg shell porcelain when held to a light source despite it being 5mm in thickness.  This wonderful little piece is finished with a gilt line to the rim and has an impressed oval seal mark to the base which reads 'Tozan'.  It has a nicely potted foot rim and is in very good condition with no damage or repair, it does have a small glaze roll back spot just within the foot rim. There is fine surface wear to the inside of the bowl and to the gilding conducive with its age and use (please see photos).

Diameter 12.9 cm.
