A pair of 1969 first issue Crissy dolls dressed very authentically as a Cossack couple. She is wearing an elaborate costume of red skirt, embroidered peasant blouse with black waist coat and apron, embellished with gold braid and sequins. She has embroidered long socks and peasant shoes. Her Crissy hair has been replaced with an elaborate coif of brown mohair plaits twisted around her head, embellished with a flower.

"He" (also a first issue Crissy doll) is dressed in a typical, felt Cossack uniform with embroidered shirt, embroidered long socks and peasant shoes. He has black mohair hair, beard and moustache and wears a genuine astrakhan papakha hat.

On both dolls the clothing has been sewn on, and I have not removed it. They both appear to be sound and in good condition. The boy has a tiny crack at his neck mid-back (see photo).

These would make an eye-catching addition to your doll collection, whether it be National dolls or Crissy family.
