For sale is a vintage wooden peg leg (prosthetic) that we thought was both super unique and quite a statement piece! The leg is in overall decent condition with signs of light to general wear from previous use, age, and storage/display. There is some scuffing and scratching noted to the surfaces throughout (some examples pictured). There are a few small wood chips to the edges of the leg (pictured). Bruising to the wood seen throughout as well (light to moderate scuffs). The straps have quite a bit of wear and some damage consistent with age and storage (pictured). Staining and discoloration throughout to the straps are noted. The straps are becoming brittle and do flake when handled (especially handled roughly/hard). Unsure the exact age or maker of this piece as there are no markings. The bottom piece is held in with some nails, along with most of the piece. Wear to the finish/stain to one half of the top (where the leg nub goes), we do not know if it was made like that, from previous use, or just how it aged. One of the two sides appears to have had a possible old repair or splinter (pictured). Additional light cleaning will most likely be needed after the shipping process. There is an old tag written from the previous owner (partially ripped, we assume to hide the price they paid) that is included that says (in rough handwriting) "THIS IS A REAL PEG LEG USED IN MOVIES". We cannot verify/validate these claims. Either which way, this is a neat piece!
