The ribs will bend and flex in windy conditions so not to easily break or invert, even if the canopy blows inside out during sudden gusts, it can be easily flipped back into position without damaging the frame.

Care and maintenance
It’s important to note that all umbrella manufacturers strongly recommend that you open your umbrella up and let it dry after use. Not doing so can lead to corrosion of any and all parts, especially automatic open and close functions. It can also let mildew develop in the canopy, which will destroy the waterproof material and stink.
