We are Kingsmill Remodeling, a full-service remodeling company that specializes in custom basement design and construction.  Since 1996, we have been creating innovative home bar systems uniquely designed for each customer.  We carefully evaluate how you will use the bar, storage and display requirements, and the space available for the bar’s location.  Then we create the perfect bar for your home or business.

Materials –
Part of making a quality product is starting with quality materials.  We use only 100% furniture grade hardwood plywood and clear solid hardwood.  The ONLY MDF (particle board) used is for laminate tops.  Typically, we use oak, cherry, or maple, but other species are also available.  Our bars have 5 major components:

1.       Cabinets -
Base front wall cabinets are 12” deep, and 40.5” tall (42" with top).  They typically have open shelves / no doors and while simple in appearance, the final dimensions provide correct bar height comfort with nearly any bar stool, and highly functional while behind the bar.  All parts will have dado joints with pocket screw fasteners and built to last generations.

2.       Front Recessed Panels –
To decorate the front of the bar (and hide the cabinet backs), we add a “skin” to the front face of the bar unit.  This consists of recessed panels trimmed with quarter round or upgradeable bed molding.  This achieves a great look at an affordable price.

3.       Continuous Step -
Over the years of using several options, we have found the continuous foot rest provides the best comfort regardless of the bar stools used.

4.       Top -
Our countertops are hardwood plywood that features a Chicago style bar rail that matches the rest of the bar.  Special finish is applied to perform perfectly against harsh cleaning chemicals and high proof alcohol spills - built to last

5.       Bar Rail Elbow Rest –
Our traditional bars include a 100% hardwood elbow rest trim molding.  There are several profiles on the market and different ways to attach and secure the trim to the top.  Our method uses the heaviest profile and multiple attachment points to ensure lifetime performance that will not loosen or separate even after the neighbor dances on the bar!

FINISH -
All of our bars include stain and finish using proven commercial grade finish products.  Select 1 of 36 different color options.  While we construct your bar, we will send samples of the wood stained and finished for your approval.  Once confirmed, we deliver the bar completely finished and ready to use.

PRICING -
We have made pricing simple as well.  Our bars cost $398 per linear foot.  So for example, a 6-foot bar, finished and complete -  is ONLY $2388.00!  This could include up to (1) 90 degree turn to configure the bar in an “L” shape.  Because every location is different, we will spend some time understanding where the bar will be located, and make sure it is comfortable and fits the proposed space.  If a complex custom shape is needed, we can offer complete CAD drawings and computerized 3D models for an extra fee.  As a rule of thumb, each seat at the bar should have no less than 2 feet per bar stool for the best comfort.

LEAD TIME -
Lead times vary given the size, packing, and shipping requirements.  As of November 2021, our average lead time is about 16 weeks.  Our goal is to deliver your bar as quickly as possible, but shop times do vary week to week.  We will keep you informed of our schedule during construction.  We promise it will be worth the wait!

DELIVERY -
Delivery is easier than you might think.  All bar components are carefully wrapped and protected.  We use highly qualified independent shippers that offer "white glove" service from our shop to your door.

ASSEMBLY -
Over the years, we have developed a unique system to minimize assembly time once materials arrive on the jobsite.  There will be no need to hire a carpenter...  If you can use a screw gun, you are ready to install the bar yourself.  We make sure the components will all fit through the door, and around tight corners of a basement or where ever the bar is being installed, and can provide clear video instructions on assembly.  Midwest and east coast cities will have the option for delivery and installation services as well.

VIDEO -
Your bar will be FULLY ASSEMBLED inside our shop.  This accomplishes a few things.  First, it confirms all fit and finish is complete, and that all components you requested are included in the build.  We will send photos of the finished product to confirm everything meets your approval before packaging and shipping.  Next, it allows us an opportunity to record the disassembly piece by piece which will be used in creating an instructional video of how to reassemble YOUR specific bar as needed.

PURCHASE WITH CONFIDENCE –
We are an incorporated business designing and building bars in 1996.  We can provide DOZENS of references of customers currently enjoying their custom built bar from Kingsmill Remodeling.  We offer a 2-year no excuses warranty in writing that will be included with every bar purchased.

Bottom line… our bars are made of premium quality, built by precision craftsmen, and will add beauty and value to your home or business.  Don’t settle for an imported particle board kit that take hours and hours to assemble, and wobbles as soon as someone leans against it. Turn to the pros and get a professionally built bar from Kingsmill Remodeling right here in the USA!    – Cheers.
