I have this pin available in more than one enamel colour, if you have a preference please let me know. A golden metal pin badge made sometime around the 1960's to advertise Skoda EJF in Brno. The EJF stands for Elektrotechnik Julius Fucik. Julius Fucik was a Czechoslovak journalist, communist and nazi resistance fighter who died in WW2. He later became a national hero.
The badge face is 1cm high and has a long, stick pin fastener.
Historical Background
Skoda, formed in 1859 as an armaments factory, produced their first car in 1905 Skoda produced modern cars up until the communist coup in 1948 whereupon they were largely cut off from Western markets. The 1960's onwards saw a range of production cars that were based on outdated designs.
Since the 1990's Skoda has been transformed by its partnership with VW of Germany into a very successful automotive company. Sales in 1991 were around 170 thousand new cars and in 2010 were 760 thousand.
