What is Inklink™ and how does it work?

An inklink™ is an alternative to using cartridges.
The unit comprises of a large reservoir of ink (100mls of each colour) that sit outside your printer. Attached to the reservoir is a set of silicone tubes which feed into special cartridges which you use instead of your current cartridges. The printer works exactly the same way but now you have 100mls of each colour rather  than 10mls (which is the contents of the average cartridge).

Even better, when you get low on ink, just pull out the plug on the reservoir and pour in some refill ink (available from rihac for $14 per 100mls). Best of all you are saving up to 96% compared to the cost of cartridges

How much will I save by using Inklink?

You save up to 85% on your printing costs!   

Obviously, the more you print the more you will be saving.

Consider it this way, the Epson T0540- T0549 cartridges have approximately 10mls of usable ink inside. Epson T0540- T0549 cartridges retails for around $15 for the photo black & $27 each for the rest (prices correct as of May 2012 via officeworks online*)

Our CISS is prefilled with 640ml of Rihac ink and is equivalent to approximately 60 Epson cartridges which would cost you about $1530.00 to purchase separately.

In our set of replacement inks (8 x 100ml of each colour) would cost you $223 for 800mls of ink. To buy the same amount of Epson cartridges it would cost you about $1530.00*. Therefore you will save $1307.00 every time you refill your Rihac CISS!

Technical details of our other ink products:

Our ink related products are technically sound. Our inks utilise surfactants and humectants to minimize ink loss via evaporation. Penetrants facilitate the transfer of inks to the paper and prevent feathering which is an issue effecting lower quality inks.

We use a biocide to eliminate bacteria growth and increase the shelf life to 18 months. The usable life of our stabilised inks exceeds the 18 month shelf life significantly.

Technical data sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets are available from our website and provided as a matter of course for all international sales.

These inks are 'model specific'. This simply means we have produced the inks to be an exact match to the colour's produced by the original cartridges. Refill inks are available as individual 100ml bottles.  

How do your inks compare to Epson Large Format?

Photo Pro inks are a resin encapsulated pigment ink utilizing Cabots CAB-O-JET patented pigment dispersions. Resin encapsulation is process where the pigment crystal is coated in a resin polymer. This technology prevents coagulation and settlement issues as it prevents agglomeration, the attraction of electrically charged particles. It also prevents the crystals from catching and bonding which is an issue with traditional pigment inks. The resin coat allows them to roll of each other creating a smooth flowing ink with even particle distribution.

REDUCED CLOGGING

Standard pigment crystals tend to catch on each other (agglomeration) causing larger particle size which leads to blocked print heads and other printing problems. By coating the pigments in a resin it allows them to flow smoothly from the print head as the particles roll off each other

NO PARTICLE CLUMPING FROM STATIC CHARGE

Resin encapsulation is process where the pigment crystal is coated in a resin polymer. This technology prevents coagulation and settlement issues as it prevents agglomeration, the attraction of electrically charged particles.

Cabots CAB-O-JET dispersions already have an outstanding fade rating as per the DIN 54004 scale but also the resin protects the pigment particles minimizing UV light damage

INCREASED COLOUR GAMUT

The even distribution of particles results in a higher colour gamut and higher gloss giving a smooth image appearance. Conventional pigment inks often have a uneven distribution resulting in a lower color gamut.

GREATER DURABILITY

Conventional pigment inks lay on top of media and scratch easily. Photopro pigments are fixed on media by the polymerizing resin making them more durable and scratch-resistant.

CONTINUOUS INK SUPPLY SYSTEMS

A greater colour gamut (increased colour range) is achieved as the pigment particles are not clumped and thus are more evenly distributed when in suspension. Because of this the inks are suitable for resin coated glossy media which can produce prints of near equal vividness of dye inks
