SPEC Stage 1 clutch kit which can hold 599 lbft.
of torque. This is the new Version 2 which
incorporates a stronger pressure plate,
increasing torque capacity by 175 lbft! And also
decreasing pedal effort by 25%. SPEC part number
SC091.
Stage One
These clutches are great as a replacement
for the stock clutch, and engage as smooth
with stock-like daily drivability, but are
much higher quality with very good wear
characteristics. They are also good for high
performance street driving, or light drag
strip action for bolt on naturally aspirated
and mildly modified forced induction
engines. The kit comes with a high clamp
pressure plate, steel-backed and
multi-compound woven organic clutch disc
with a high torque sprung hub and disc
assembly with install tool. This application
does not utilize a conventional throwout
bearing, as the releaser is a concentric
hydraulic slave/bearing assembly. This
concentric slave is available as an option
to the kit.

SPEC Stage 1 Clutch Kit:
Features an integrally molded carbon kevlar-based,
high performance organic lining that offers smooth
engagement and excellent life. This lining has an
integrally bonded steel backing for strength under
high clamp loads and temperatures. The hub is
double sprung with spring cover relieves for
flexibility and heat treated components for
strength and durability. Best for street and many
track/off-road applications.

SPEC's Billet Aluminum Pressure Plate Option can
be added to almost any clutch. This version
reduces the weight of the pressure plate by about
40%. This will increase rwhp by significantly
decreasing the rotating mass of your driveline,
allowing power to transfer to the wheels much more
efficiently.
We also have SFI legal billet steel or SFI legal
aluminum flywheels to go with your clutch kit,
just checkout our eBay store. The aluminum
flywheel also decreases rotating mass, adding up
to an additional 10 rwhp!
Clutch
Install Info
Unless using a new flywheel provided by SPEC,
the existing unit must be resurfaced prior to
installation of the clutch product to ensure
integrity of friction surface. Owner must also
break in the new high performance clutch for a
minimum of 500 miles, primarily city and/or
stop-and-go driving, before full throttle
engagement, drag launching or power shifting.
Failure to properly install and break in your
clutch will create chatter and slipping, plus it
will void the manufacturer's warranty. Unless
otherwise instructed by written notice from
SPEC, follow manufacturers instructions when
installing clutch and flywheel products. SPEC
recommends that all bolts be inspected before
re-installation, and any bolts that have been
removed and re-torqued multiple times should be
replaced.
