The SWL-4 is a 50 or 100 foot (18 AWG gauges), end-fed shortwave listener's antenna designed to perform well on the shortwave from .5 to 30 MHz and the medium AM broadcast band (540-1750 kHz). The antenna lead in cable is high quality RG174/U, 50 OHMS coaxial 25 foot long and terminated by a choice of different connections (Specify when ordered). The lead in coax is also used as a counterpoise for the antenna. A connection to ground is therefore not required but the stainless steel eyelet is internally grounded if required, can be grounded if reception is noisy, static or experimental. (Normal: no ground)

It features special matching network transformer (10:1)(long wire) high impedance 500 to 50 ohm to connect directly to antenna input of the receiver . This antenna is Omni-directional.

The SWL-4 is complete and ready to go for receive and can be used indoors or outdoors, portable or fixed and is completely waterproof. Including polyester rope.
