Why a Turbo will Fail?

There are several causes for a turbocharger to fail or become damaged. Here are some possible reasons:

• Oil/Lubrication.  For A Turbo charger to Work correctly and efficiently a Turbo must maintain a constant flow of clean oil. Your Oil and filter should be regularly changed to maintain the turbo to keep it working correctly. See Your Vehicle Manufacture for details about oil changes.
  
•  Foreign Objects. Possible one of the biggest causes for turbo's failing. Any objects such as dust particles, road debris such as stones can enter the turbo and cause damage to the turbine blades or compressor wheels. When this happens the turbo will stop working efficiently. By changing/checking your air filter regularly for debris will reduce the chance of this happening.
  
•  Other Causes. Other cause may include excessive exhaust temperatures, moisture ingress, wear and tear, fuel intake systems, the waste gate and the exhaust system can also cause damage to your turbocharger.

There are several signs that a turbo needs replacing or is in need of major maintenance. Some Include:
