COMPOUND
Resin compound is medium hardness compound made from softer materials than sintered compound meaning it is usually quieter. Resin pads will give you more initial bite when you first grab the brake lever. Resin pads are very quick to bed in and they don’t pass as much heat into mineral oil systems. However, resin compound is not as long-lasting as sintered compound, especially in wet conditions, offer less power at the ultimate top-end power and also fade fastest from all compounds.
Semi Metallic compound offers excellent braking power and quiet braking in wet & dry conditions. Work very well from cold. Due to medium hardness, they are exceptionally rotor friendly with yet brilliant long lasting performance. Model with Aluminium backing plate offer very light weight ( 50% less weight, only 11g ) and more importantly outstanding heat dissipation.
Ceramic compound offers powerful yet quiet vibration damping braking performance also resulting in better feel on lever response and longer lifespan than Organic or Semi Metallic compound. Ceramic compound is very stable under a wide range of temperatures for consistent performance, excellent brake thermal recovery and smooth, progressive and controlled braking with exceptional lever response. Ceramic pads are longer lasting compared to Semi Metallic or Organic pads and extremely rotor friendly with minimum impact on rotor wear which will massively increase rotor lifetime compared to use with Sintered pads.
Sintered compound offers powerful braking performance, highest friction from all compounds offered and excellent lifespan due to hardest compound ( full metal / pressed copper ) which makes it the best value for money. Sintered pads are ideal for downhill riding as they can withstand extreme punishment due to wide operation temperature and very high friction.
