the size of the silica beads are between 2mm ~ 5mm
and are non-toxic

5 grams of silica gel is advised per every cubic foot of storage space. 

(items need to be sealed in bags to be fully effective otherwise the gel may turn green rapidly

on absorbing the open atmosphere)
