Sasha Kagan Acorns Cardigan Kit - Black Version from Big and Little Sweaters  - Vintage Rowan Botany wool and Fine Fleck Tweed

Sasha has a long history with Rowan having contributed designs from the very earliest Rowan publications.  Originally published in her own book, Big and Little Sweaters, we offer a vintage Rowan yarn pack to knit this wonderful cardigan.  "Acorns" was featured in multiple colorways in the book.  Here we offer the "black" version knit from Vintage Rowan 4 ply botany and Fine Fleck Tweed.  The design features a repeating oak leaf with acorns motif and deep ribbed borders, and a stand up collar at the neckline.  Knit using the motif intarsia technique where the background yarn is carried across the entire row.  Suitable for experienced knitters comfortable with intarsia color changes. The pattern comes in three sizes to fit up to a 34, 36, or 38 inch bust/chest.   The pattern calls for a tension of 28 stitches and 28 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles.  Given the geometric nature of the pattern it would be easy to size up to create an even larger size.   The book gave multiple size directions.  Just ask and we can alter the pattern and furnish additional yarn

The kit contains a copy of the pattern, original buttons, a Sasha Kagan sew in label, and the following original Rowan yarns:  4 ply botany in Black (62), Electric Blue (634), Yellow (14), Eau de nil (89), Purple (126). and Red (44); and Fine Fleck Tweed in Dark Green (90).  As this was an original Rowan kit dye lots match when multiple balls are required.
