If you are buying an item as a gift for someone who already owns some particular brand of luggage, you may want to figure out if he or she prefers items that match. Hartmann, for example, has changed logos and shades of leather over the years. Buying a new Hartmann item may not match an existing set. Some people don't mind and even prefer a little variety in their sets. Most people prefer to have matching sets, with pieces of similar logo, shade of leather, etc. If you are in doubt or want to discuss this, feel free to contact me.
