This cartridge is built by ourselves in our own workshop with all brand new, top quality parts and highly balanced to ensure optimum performance.

This CHRA utilitses the following specifications:

COMPRESSOR WHEEL

Our billet compressor wheel is based on the Garrett GTX design. We have improved this further by extending the blade tips and also by reducing the nose size. This results in faster spool (approx 500rpm), more air flow (10%) and much harder, stronger boost, especially in the mid range.

 

TURBINE SHAFT AND WHEEL

Our turbine shaft and wheel has been designed to be lighter and also stronger than the original. Rated to 850 degrees C, it can withstand hard use (anti lag is not recommended). The shaft nut is a left hand thread to prevent the nut releasing and coming off, even with the extreme torque the unit produces. Finally to provide more flow, the turbine wheel has been made with cut back blades which reduces back pressure.

 

BEARINGS & SEALS

Our 360 race thrust bearing and stainless steel thrust collar is fitted to handle the torque and power of the unit. Rated to 25psi, the enlarged thrust pad and ported oil galleries ensure plenty of oil is fed to where it required.

High temperature piston rings are used to ensure the perfect seal with the rear being a step gap staggered oil seal (ideal for uprated boost applications or low back pressure exhausts (de-cats,large bore)).


PRECISION BALANCED

 

This CHRA makes 400BHP realistic for the T34.63 unit and also improves the drive-ability. It is a DIRECT FIT to the OE housings and is the highest specification CHRA available using the standard setup.

These CHRA units are built and balanced in our own workshop in the UK, using all brand new top quality parts. Unlike many of our competitors, we buy direct from manufacturers and specify materials we require, so know our products are the best quality available.

maximum for dispatch.

 

Where is my Turbo part number?

The number is usually found on the compressor housing on a small rectangular part of the housing which is machined flat or on a metal tag attached to the housing. Alternatively, please contact us with your registration number and we will attempt to identify the correct part.

 

Important Information before fitting your new CHRA

Turbochargers are very reliable indeed. Of all turbocharger failures, very few are the fault of the turbo itself, but are in fact caused by outside influence. This could be:

Oil starvation: A blocked or restricted oil feed pipe, damaged oil pump, low oil level

Oil contamination: Metal particles or carbon from poor servicing or faulty DPF filters, EGR valves etc

Over speeding: Boost pipe work, holed intercooler, jammed VNT, Remap

Impact damage: Faulty air filter, remains of past Turbo failure, Swirl flap failure etc.

Before fitting you MUST find the reason why your turbo failed and correct it. Simply fitting a new CHRA in most instances will only cover up the problem resulting in re-occurrence of the failure. Unit must be fitted by a qualified mechanic and the supplied installation instructions followed in full. We compile installation instructions with or many years experience in the turbo industry and our knowledge on turbocharger failures and their causes. Failing to follow the instructions in full could result in an expensive failure, so please beware.

FITTING IS ADVISED BY A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC. YOU MUST FIND THE REASON FOR THE ORIGINAL UNIT FAILURE AND CORRECT IT. SIMPLY REPLACING THE FAILED COMPONENT WILL IN MOST CASES NOT BE A SUCCESSFUL REPAIR.
