Up for sale are carbon copies of 5 SHIP CHARACTERISTIC CARDS - U.S.S. DOYLE C. BARNES (last commissioned 13 July 1944), U.S.S. DUFILHO (last commissioned 21 July 1944), U.S.S. FRENCH (last commissioned 9 October 1944), U.S.S. PRATT (last commissioned 18 September 1944), and U.S.S. ROLF (last commissioned 7 September 1944).

These are US Military Ships and the copies are VERY SCARE material.  The forms are either OPNAV 9010-2 or formerly known as OPNAV-414-100.

The Ship Characteristics Card is a report of comprehensive information essential to the understanding of the characteristics and capabilities of surface ships and service craft.  Information typically recorded included the following: ship name, the organization to which the ship was assigned, operational status and state of readiness, the name of the builder and dates of construction, standard measurements such as displacement, draft, length and beam, officer and crew complement, type and number of boats and floats, data on engines, boilers, generators, evaporators, compressors, refrigeration and distilling plants, data on fuel and lubricating oils, data on supplied and stores, and information on small arms and ammunition retained on board.  For combatant vessels such as aircraft carriers, the forms typically record the type and amount of ordinance (guns, mounts, shells, bombs, rockets) on board and also data on ammunition and aircraft elevators.

These forms were originally marked "CLASSIFIED", but have now been "DECLASSIFIED".  When originally typed, these forms had 1 original and 7 carbon copies of the 8 page reports.  The reports were submitted to the Chief of Naval Operations by commanding officers of all vessels.  These are all carbon copies.

Overall, the copies are generally in Good Condition.  There is wear and browning to the pages.  Some tears around the edges and some creases in the pages.

Other dings here and there.  Please email me with questions and see my store for other great items.
